Most EV owners charge at home overnight on an AC wall box and use DC fast chargers on longer trips. Both the Dongfeng Vigo and 007 take AC charging at up to 6.6 kW, so a near-empty Vigo battery (51.87 kWh) needs about 9 hours on a 6.6 kW wall box. Have a licensed electrician check your home wiring before installing one.
AC at home, DC on the road
AC charging is slower and gentle, ideal overnight. DC fast charging is for when you need range quickly: the Vigo accepts up to 167 kW and the 007 up to 200 kW, though the speed you actually get depends on the charger and the battery's state.
Before you install a wall box
- Ask a licensed electrician to check your main switchboard and wiring.
- Choose a spot near where you park, sheltered from rain if possible.
- For condos and landed homes in a managed estate, check the management's rules first.

Questions
Can I charge an EV from a normal three-pin socket?
It is very slow and puts a long load on household wiring, so it is only a stop-gap. A proper wall box, installed by a licensed electrician, is the safer everyday choice.
